Our own Emily aka MISS PARK AVENUE broke it down with Bad Brilliance at IFC’s Food Party and Dinner with the Band event.

The inimitable Igor of Driven By Bordom did a nice write-up of the show, and his amazing pics were also posted on the Village Voice blog, prompting people to contact Emily from her past, wondering if it was really her.

Our new Hummingbird video - the footage is 100% real! Filmed off the coast of Honduras.

Ashlynn’s EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with the infamous Mz.JuicyPie, CEO of WriteBrickz Online Magazine!

Our “Hummingbird” music video, filmed by Bad Brilliance, is now a featured video on National Geographic online! From MTV to National Geographic… which do you think is the cooler place to be featured? [that was a self-serving rhetorical question.. NG duh!!! - Ed note]

Here’s what Nat Geo had to say about the video:

“Hummingbird” is the first single from Suspicious Package, with co-production and music video by artist Bad Brilliance. “Hummingbird” heralds the arrival of “bio-pop,” a genre coined by the Suspicious Package girls that uses pop music and entertainment to focus on pressing themes of biodiversity.

I’ll admit - it was a coincidence. We didn’t realize, when we launched our new “bio-pop” project with “Hummingbird” that the UN had declared 2010 to be the official International Year of Biodiversity, complete with this totally nifty biodiversity website featuring leaders and celebrities giving educational and inspirational insight, articles on success stories, and a wealth of resources to learn about and support biodiversity, with the motto: “Biodiversity is life. Biodiversity is our life.”

So, the universe is aligned. Every outlet - from the political to business to POP CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT - has come out to join, as the UN says “a celebration of life on earth and of the value of biodiversity for our lives. The world is invited to take action in 2010 to safeguard the variety of life on earth: biodiversity.”

Jump in.

In alliance with our bio-pop project which started with “Hummingbird,” our buddy Ed Norton (and the whole UN too, by the by) send this important message:

“Many people remain unaware that the earth is losing an incredible array of plant and animal life at an unprecedented and alarming rate…We must confront the indifference and often ignorance to the importance of biodiversity. More than ever humanity needs to reconnect with nature.”
